10 Lbs Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth

Looks good, but there's no way to know how to use it. As it's my first time and my phone won't allow me to see the directions. When I enlarge it online.
Obviously it has to go in my garden ground.But it doesn't say what to do when i'm first starting my garden. doesn't say what to do after my garden is in full swing, doesn't say what to do.If I find bugs after the plants are growing.
I'm not in the mood to buy a book and then turn around.And wait until the end of the season before it comes. That's a few even have something that could be bought.

We stumbled upon this years ago and did some extra research on it and found that it was GREAT for unwanted pests. Used it like a light dusting on our potato plants and WOW it turned out better than we expected. So we use it in our garden (but we keep it off the flowers of the plants for the bees). WE benefit greatly by the way we use it. Our potato beetles have diminished greatly.

Truth be told, I’ve not yet opened the bag as I still have some from my previous order. I “take” DE once a day, have for many moons, after my acupuncturist suggested it. I’ve recommended it to a number of friends. A few have tried DE, it helped with pain for one, constipation for another.

Very hard to get right but once you figure out when and how to use its very effective. Yet please do some research it's a messy hard to use product if you make mistake.

Works as it should. Been ordering for several years. Now I see it’s gone up first 26% the 57% from just January 2024 and it’s August 2025 now. WHY??I used to live in the suburbs now, I have animals and live in the country so I thought I would stick to what I used for pest control in my house and the occasional drinking for a slight cleanse. Now I’m thinking I might just go to the feed store and buy that when you can get 5-10 times as much for half the price. Yes, it won’t be food grade but I’m not eating it anymore anyway.

This is a really great product. One reason I bought it was for my plants. I have yellow pepper plants that have been, unfortunately, ravaged by aphids. I managed to wash them out with water and dish soap. I just needed something a little more powerful to finish the job. I heard great things about this product and had to see for myself.I absolutely love it! I would suggest that you buy something to help you use it, though. They have diatomaceous earth dusters available on here as well. The material is a fine powder and in order to use it properly depending on what you are using it for, make sure you research which application tool is best in your specific situation. You can use the duster or wet it a little and use a paint brush to paint it around wherever you need it. Or you can use it with a sprayer by diluting it with water. SO EASY. Which is another reason I really love it, its versatility is a huge plus for me.And, because it is food safe, I feel comfortable using it on my pepper plants. I also live in Georgia where summer time is a time warp into the pits of hell most days. It is also why bugs like to try to find a safe haven indoors. That being said, I use a little bit of diatomaceous earth and sprinkle on my cat beds so they dont have to worry about getting ate up by bugs. I also sprinkle it around my door frames on the floor, in the corners of rooms, on windowsills. I mean the list is endless because it is so safe to use anywhere.I will say, be prepared with gloves and a face mask so that you don't breathe in the dust clouds. It is really important to protect your lungs as this is such a powdery substance kind of like perlite. I LOVE diatomaceous earth. I have pots for my plants that are made of diatomaceous earth as well as bathroom counter plates that absorb water. I haven't tried using the diatomaceous earth as a complete soil, I just sprinkle it all over my plants and the soil and the perimeter of my porch to keep all the bugs away. But I watched a video of a guy that uses it as the ONLY type of soil he uses. It not only absorbs water quickly, but it acts as a great slow feeder for plants because of the way it holds onto water so well. (Although, there are other products that sell bigger pieces of diatomaceous earth instead of the powdered kind which would act as a better soil IF you are into that kinda thing.) But, for the purpose of keeping bugs away from your precious green plants and animals, this is the product you need to buy. It came perfectly packaged and ready to use immediately and I have not seen any bugs since applying it! And let me tell you, I have been battling these infestations for MONTHS now. So, believe me. IT WORKS!!!!

Love using this for my pet and I also use them mother Braggs Apple cider vinegar and spring water in a spray bottle 50-50 strength on my dogs. Avoiding the eye area , I spray them lightly from tail , back, tummy , paws, legs, bottom, head , neck and a little spritz on my clean hand to rub in their ears and I do this 2-3 times a week. I make sure u don’t get it in their eyes or nose though because that would burn but I also don’t soak them because the smell is so strong ( it goes away within an hour). I then make sure I rub the vinegar mixture all over there coat and ears to not only prevent fleas /ticks and bacteria but also to avoid yeast in their ears and feet. After I do this I take a wet cloth and put 1/4 cup of DE in it and fold it so it doesn’t fall out it the rag and take my dogs on our back outside deck and rub them very gently with the rag with the DE inside it . You have to be careful ( just like when we use Baby Powder) because we don’t want it to cause any unnecessary lung issues in you or your precious fur baby. I have 2 15 lbs Cockapoos. One is 11 and the other is 3 1/2 yrs old and till this date they have never once had a yeast, flea, tick, mites, or any other skin issue. They have healthy clear ears always. You have to do this twice a week during flea season in your area and then twice a month in non flea season. This works for us! I stick to it like clock work Though and I never miss a scheduled day applying it. I also sprinkle the DE in my yard that they potty and play in. This way I don’t have to over medicate them with the unnecessary chemicals each moth which has horrible side effects to it. Why not do it naturally to avoid those toxic chemicals if you can avoid them and it works? So many licensed Vets have gone out on a limb saying that the yearly boosters and the flea meds is overmedicating and killing our animals and a younger age than expected due to all of the horrible side effects those harsh chemicals cause. I don’t know about you but our animals are part of our family. They are a member just like the rest of us are. I am going to protect them and longate their life span as much as I possibly can just like I would any other member of our family. They look to us to care for them. They are innocent , loving and helpless. They look to us to protect them and care for them just like our child does when we have children. We are all they have because they have no voice to speak. We , as their responsibile owners are their voice and protectors. I am not about to give a crap what others might think of me! Think what ever you want about me( crazy, lost my mind). But I will continue to use these things in them and anything natural to help them that I possibly can. I trust a holistic Vet better than I do a vet who has to say the things they were taught in fear of losing their licenses ( wether they agree or disagree). They also get a commission off of the products they push ( science diet) in their office. I know because I have been closely affiliated with western Vets procedures. They are just like our western medicine DR... non trustworthy, due to their teachings and protocol that they are ordered to say and abide by. They can’t tell you a more natural approach is better because they could lose their license. I believe in the holistic vets and the more holistic approach. I also make my dogs their food and freeze it so I know exactly what they are getting. I don’t believe that they can possibly know exactly what’s in that dry ( dehydrating ) dog food. But by doing things myself , since I did take responsibility when I first received my pets, I know they are being well taken care of. Just like I should be expected to do as a responsible pet owner. They are not a side piece to make your family look happy and complete. They have feelings and look to you and only you to take care of them. I hope you all will think very seriously before adding one to your home if you don’t have the time it takes to be a responsibile Pet owner. They are so loving and caring creatures. I hope you are the same to them.

This stuff is hands down, the most amazing product I have ever come across. I notice a difference in my overall health when I use it. It takes me about three days to adjust to it. I do start to feel sluggish, tired, and I have runny stools, runny nose, and flu like symptoms around the third or fourth day but then everything becomes normal. I believe it is because the diatomaceous earth is detoxing everything from my body. I can't speak for anyone else but for me, it improves my digestive system, my nails, skin, and hair are much healthier, and I have a lot more energy. I notice the energy levels because I usually drink 2-4 cups of coffee a day but when I am taking the DE, I can only drink 1 because my energy levels are much higher. It also seems to curb my appetite and I don't eat as much, and I get full faster. It reduces the bloat and water retention I often have as well. I also use it for my dogs, they are on the same schedule as me. We take it for 30 days they we take a break for 30 days then back on for 30 days. They are so much healthier as well. They also experience some minor detox symptoms also - same as mine, runny stool, sluggish, and runny noses around day 3/4 but then it goes away and they have a ton of energy after that. We recently moved to TN and encountered a serious flea infestation and this was how I was introduced to DE. NOTHING we used worked! NOTHING! And I refuse to put any chemicals on my dogs. My poor dogs had flea bites so bad on their lower backs they were scabbed, and that was with daily bathing and combing. IT WAS INSANE! I would bathe them and literally watch the fleas run and hide inside their eyes, ears and anal area. I literally cried because nothing was working. I bought some DE and dusted them down and bathed them with organic, chemical free, flea and tick shampoo the next day. Every single flea on them was dead! I was amazed! I am not exaggerating, they were all dead! Then we dusted the house, floors, rugs, bedding, mattresses, closets, and furniture - yes, it was a dusty mess (use a dust mask and make sure nobody, including your animals, are in the house when you do it, the dust really does irritate eyes and nose) but it was better than dealing with fleas. After three days we vacuumed and washed everything. Additionally, we sprayed the fenced in dog area of our yard with a mixture of DE and water - every three days we treated the yard. It was a lot of work but well worth it because it got rid of all of them. You do have to work through the flea cycle though, so we dusted them down and let it stay on them for three days them bathed them - we did this for 8 weeks to make sure we caught all the the ones that may hatch from any eggs they laid. Vacuuming daily and washing bedding once a week also helped. I do keep some in their dog beds all the time now. It also got rid of our spider, cricket , hornet, and ant problem. That was a bonus because we were not expecting that. I told my neighbor about it because they moved here a few years ago and they have not been able to get ahead of the fleas in their yard, and their house since. They use the harsh chemicals on their dogs and still have problems. They treated their house, dogs, and yard, and have been flea free since. This stuff really works. You do have to maintain everything though. Just because it works doesn't mean it will prevent them from reoccurring. The only time we see a flea on our dogs now is when we take them to someone else house or to the groomer, or vet, where other pets may have them. However, we just got into the routine of dusting them down before we bring them home then bathing them the next day. We also use an herbal flea collar and herbal topical as a preventative. Like I said, it is more work but we refuse to use chemicals on our pets or on ourselves. Everyone is different but the only caution I have other then breathing the dust, is for my dogs, I don't leave it on them more then 3/4 days because it tends to dry out their skin and they get itchy, dry skin. The same with my skin, it will dry it out so after bathing them I rub some organic coconut oil into their skin and coat and works great.
