After watching a series of YouTube videos, and feeling as if I had a YouTube degree on earwigs, I decided to purchase this. It did an awesome job in helping to eradicate all of the earwigs that we had in our home. This is the first time since moving to this new area that we’ve ever had to deal with these pest, and it was quite disgusting as they loved to camp out under things in things and especially in my plants. It is very messy, however, and I do recommend purchasing the applicator. Trust me, there is no neat way of sprinkling this anywhere, but you can always think you’re the first to do it differently and find out the hard way. I sprinkled this everywhere behind our couches in the corners and nooks and crannies and places where it would not be so noticeable or that my children will interact with it. If you have earwigs, this is seriously your indoor solution.
Clean, tasteless, dissolves easy!
The Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth was delivered in good condition. The product has a fine consistent texture and color.
I am prepared to order a larger bag next time. It is a great product.
I am very happy with my purchase! It was recommended by a lady I follow on you tube. I have had digestive issues for years, and thought I would give it a try for that reason. I have to say since I started taking it my stomach has never been better. It is like a miracle for me in that respect; it has literally saved me. I will be a regular customer now, my only regret is that I didn't find out about it sooner!
Love the product and ability to use it around the house. So many applications - it is a wonder!
Used the few scoops in my garden and worked great for the little critters:)
I used this in my house to stop infestation of fleas . I read online that it works on soft bellied insects and because I have a small dog I don’t like using poisonous sprays that might hurt him
Used inside home on floors and carpets for infestation of fleas and spread in backyard. Neighbors dogs are loaded and I guess they spread to my yard. It worked after 3 uses.
I love this for parasite cleansing as well as killing grasshoppers and ant beds in the yard. It’s non-toxic. You just have to be careful not to breathe in the dust that can be toxic to your lungs.
My daughter gave it to her dog. I guess I'm in good company too.
I used it a little my dog isn't scratching as much put it around the base of the carpet!!! It worked for me.
The best for you and your dog and cats..Google and find out everything about it!!
I use it in garden for cut worms, works well. I also use in chicken coop and really keeps flies down. Stopped useing fly traps even. I use a latex glove and sprinkle it that way.
DE is good for everything. I used this bag of DE to eliminate a mite problem in my chicken coop and to kill anunderground wasp nest and I used maybe 5% of the bag between both. Got a puffer applicator thing to get in underground and in all the nooks and crannies of the coop. Definitely killed everything I wanted it to and didn't have to worry about toxic chemicals around my hens, some of whom were pretty young at the time. Good value for this bag, too.
This product is a powder and it was sealed effectively when it arrived, there wasnt any powder spilled. The easy of use and color/appearance was as expected. I use this for my chicken coop to prevent mites/bugs from getting on my chickens. I have used this for a year and it works great! I highly recommend.
Food grade diatomaceous earth is safe around animals, but kills the fire ants that try to swarm the food dish for outdoor cats. Ants bite me when I pick up the dish. These are feral cats that live outdoors, so most of the gang have fleas. I feed them close to my house, and this diatomaceous earth keeps the fleas from coming closer, and it’s safe for the cats to lick any of the powder off their feet.
We use this as a nonpoisonous insect control. Powder will kill most hard shelled incests like ants and roaches without odor or danger to children and pets. Great while camping as it can be sprinkled around RV wheels to keep out insects without harming anything else. 5 pounds goes a long way as it's very light weight.
Super smooth, fine powder. Non irritating. Works just as described. I always have DE on hand for non toxic, pet friendly, long-lasting, cheap and indoor pest control. We had an infestation of drugstore beetles. This DE was a life saver! Love DE!
Diatomaseus Earth is a type of microscopic stones that serves for various purposes. This product can be used for the cleaning of my cat' s intestines. Microscopic living beings cannot eat stones, thus this product can be used to control even bad odors. I use about two cups mixed to a litter box and there are no foul smells. However, clean the litter boxes of your cats. It also adds to the power to avoid bad smells. You can notice all these benefits and more when you have Diathomaseus products. It potentiates the sand of the litter box. But be aware not to dispose off this product to the toilets or sewage in general, it turns into stone when it contacs water. A bag can last for a few years.
I love this stuff. Every spring and summer I buy diatomaceous earth once a month to sprinkle around the entire perimeter of my house as well as to dust my floorboards inside in order to get rid of and prevent ants & earwigs from taking over my house. I had a severe infestation of both last summer that left me traumatized. I would see earwigs crawling up my walls at night, find them in bed with me, find them hiding inside of clean folded clothes and blankets... and they will pinch if they feel threatened. It got to the point where I couldn't even sleep in my own house. I had the property professionally sprayed inside and out twice and was still seeing them a week later. I did some research and found this stuff and it was a literal godsend. It is messy. Very messy. But omg it is worth it. After application it took only 2 Days and they were gone for good. I love that it is safe for both kids and pets to be around and won't harm them if ingested. I don't have pets, but there's neighborhood pets roaming around and i would hate for them to ingest something poisonous outside my home... but no worry here.Just make sure when you're using the duster indoors that you ventilate the areas until the dust settles Bc although harmless when ingested, breathing it in isn't recommended. I open my windows and get the ceiling fans going during application and things usually settle within about 20-30 mins. So Cover your nose and mouth when applying with the duster indoors. Point the duster downward when using so that more product comes out otherwise it takes forever and your fingers get sore. Outdoors it's fine. I don't even use the duster outside. I just use a small measuring cup and sprinkle it generously around the foundation of my home and in my garden. Make sure you do it on a dry day when there isn't rain or heavy winds within 24 hours after application for best results. It will still keep working even after it rains, but will eventually need to be reapplied. I do it about once a month from April until Octoberish. A 4-5 pound bag is enough for me to place all around the foundation, garden and inside of my home once with about 1/4 bag leftover. This stuff literally rids your home and prevents any crawling insects from returning. It has become a necessity in my every spring and summer Bc it works that well!
I use this to kill aphids and earwigs in my garden. I sprinkle it around the base of a plant and turn over the soil a bit to get down by the roots but without disturbing the roots. It seems to work well, but not perfect. I've had infestations and with this it helps remedy that 80 to 90% which I find a success. I just opened the bag and take a small shovel and sprinkle it around. I don't necessarily wear gloves and I don't wear a mask when I use this. Although it is dusty. This is the second year I've been using this and it definitely helps. I will continue to buy as I need it for my garden.
If you’re looking for something to kill bugs in your house THIS is the product for you. We recently moved into a house that was semi infested with brown recluse. We tried EVERYTHING. No sprays would work, the exterminator did nothing and costed a pretty penny. One day on tiktok I saw a lady talking about this stuff and saying that it was the only thing that will kill them. We thought “might as well give it a try since nothing else is working”. I sprinkled this along the base of the walls in every room and my husband went into the attic and spread it all over the insulation. We haven’t seen a single spider in months! My husband recently went back up into the attic to prepare for winter and he found HUNDREDS of dead spiders and not a single one crawling. Not only does it kill spiders but it kills beetles, roaches, earwigs, etc. you name it. If it crawls, it’s dead. This stuff is magic. I do some more reading on this stuff and I also find that if your pets have worms, you can put a little in their food (preferably wet) and it’ll rid them of the parasites. (Please talk to your vet before this though). This is the end all fix all. So stop paying out the babooshka for exterminators that hardly do anything and DYI!
I was irritated at first because it had taken a cpl weeks and still not here, then a message from Amazon it would another week. I got about 4 days later and they sent 2 bags. Seems to be good quality, my cat stopped itching immediately. I plan to use for other things as well. If the 2nd bag was an accident then let me know ill send the other back. Thank you
I originally bought this to use in my smoothies as a dietary aid. Then I read how I could use it as a pesticide indoors and out and that is ultimately what I use it for. I have used it in the garden and in the house to get rid of Argentinian ants. I live in Southern California and they have become quite the nuisance. I have had the pest control out 4 times, because what he was using wasn't getting the job done. He said the usual bugs sprays are not as effective on these ants and can increase their activity. Diatamaceous earth on the other hand worked like a charm. I sprinkled it EVERYWHERE to get them under control. It works by clinging to their exoskeletons. They carry the particles back to their nest and the particles kill them by cutting into their skeletons and dehydrating them. They can move around a bit with it on them, long enough to get back to where they came from, but once they go to the nest, they don't come back out. Depending on how much you put out, it could take hours or the better part of a day to see the results, but it does work. It only works dry, so if it gets wet, it won't be effective again until it dries. Since it is rather inexpensive, I used it liberally. It is safe to use around food and pets and plants. The only downside is that the dust doesn't go away, so depending on how much you put down, it could create a mess until you decide to clean it up. TIP: Encircle the ant or nest so that the ants have to cross the path of the dust to ensure that they get some on them. Or you can sprinkle it directly on the ants, or plants. TIP: Don't clean up the suit with your vacuum. It will not be pretty. Clean it up by mopping, or with a wet paper towel.
I'm amazed. Simply amazed.I went to Walgreens one day recently to pick up ant bait to combat the sudden appearance of ants in our kitchen in the past couple months that no amount of cleaning and spraying is stopping. A very friendly man there told me that I might have more luck with DE. Okay, so I innocently tried this product just for the ants first. Let me tell you! Wow! First of all, my kittens live this stuff. Second of all, the morning after I spread this stuff, I found dead millipedes and other things I had no idea were even in my house, but not a single live bug crawling anywhere in my kitchen. it was a sudden improvement, and such a simple solution.I then thought about how much my cats liked it. I wondered if I could use it as a flea treatment of a flea preventative. What I discovered was much better. You see, it just so happens that we had just adopted these two kittens three months earlier and they had brought Gardia home to our poor little terrier. Then one of the kittens refused and continues to accept his medicine despite my years of experience treating the family pets. Then he drinks the dog's water, reinfecting her over and over. The good news is that DE may kill parasites. It was worth a try. I mixed some in the cats' food, since it's food grade. They loved it!! And the best part is that their stools went from completely liquid to firm, solid stools. I then treated the dog. She was a little harder to treat because she has always been extremely fussy about every single bite that passes her lips, but it was easier than giving her the other Garcia treatment, Panacur, and she also *recovered.*I'm simply amazed. So the third and fourth thing? I treated us (my husband and me) and I treated my garden. My husband's Gastroenterologist told him he appears to have a chronic direction in his colon and gave him an antibiotic for it, also telling him to take Probiotics. It didn't fix the problems my poor, dear husband was having, though, and he severe symptoms of a disorder of his colon for years. As for me, I had less severe colon symptoms but I had chronuc, severe gastric problems. On top of that, I had chronic infections. For those reasons, I decided to give us both a small dose of DE every day to see if it would have any positive effect. I was very nervous and started small. At the same time, I sprinkled DE in my pest-ridden garden and took a wait-and-see approach. That was the clincher - these last two experiments. My husband and I apparently had some kind of horrifying worm, the evidence of which has shown up for both of us in our colon output, speaking delicately. We both feel better. Outside, my garden became healthier just as growing season ended, and inside, the dog and the two kittens are thriving. The house is free of ants and other creepy-crawlies, and honestly, I am just amazed. I'm going to keep this stuff on hand.... One thing, you might want to get you a mask because it's pretty dusty. It's not necessary but I felt better with a simple mask. It's easy to handle without breathing dust in but I just felt better having a mask for the sake of being safe. I got one of those cloth masks with the insertable charcoal filter, because if you breathe this stuff in, my understanding is that it can hurt you.
