Bug control

This stuff is so great for roach infestation.I tried all sort of traps and foggers but this gives instant results for sprinkling under kitchen sink, refrigrator, stove .Make sure to wear a mask as it can get in your airways and cause irritation although it is not poisonous as people consume it in small quantities for various health benefits (only food grade).Use it in combination with other methods for bug control and it definitely give better results.

This stuff works on everything

I bought this to use on my plants. I had tomatoes and I had bugs on them. I searched the internet and this came up.I bought it and sprinkled a very little on my plants and had no more bugs.I then decided to try this on my Livestock Guardian Dog (LGD). she is an Antolian Shepard and protects my free range chickens from other dogs and wildlife including coyotes, which we have many of around here.I sprinkled some of this in her dog house on her bedding and the fleas were greatly reduced, so I sprinkled some around her favorite areas, which is under a very large oak tree which is cooler in summer. I spread it using a hand held seed spreader. Guess what? No more Fleas at all.I then tried it on my chickens and no mites. This stuff works on anything and is easy to use.

I wish I had put on goggles before I opened the box. Their website shows goggles.

Dust was everywhere and got in my eyes. I used eye wash which helped some. Then I used their idea of flushing out with water. So I bent over my kitchen sink using the removable nozzle, then it was better. I placed the DE in it's original bag into a BIG zip lock bag. My wonderful husband found our goggles and I used them. Now I'm ready to take a tsp using an ice tea spoon with a long handle and just opened a corner of the bag. I'm not going to fish around for the scoop!I put 2 cups of filtered water in a mason type jar (a peach jar from Costco) put the lid on and shook it up between several swallows (note to self: don't gulp this stuff, it might end up in the wrong pipe). Later I drank lots of water.I'll give an Update Report about the effectiveness in the future.I crave sweets!UPDATE: I started with a Tablespoon daily but then I was too thirsty for too long so I switched to one teaspoon daily for 9 days, but I got a headache. Then I stopped for 6 days and the headache went away. I was so happy, I was eating less and my craving for sweets was diminishing. I just couldn't eat as much as I used to! Hallelujah! .My body finally figured out that it could release weight! But then I got a headache again, so for now I take less than a teaspoon every 2 or 3 days. I'll try to update more in the future.

Eliminates dead/ yellow areas in lawns from dog pee!

I purchase Diatomaceous Earth. I have used it in the past and purchased some last year and began taking it in water again. I work up and take a tablespoon sometimes daily, then break for a while. On a separate note, the thing that I find strange - this summer I decided to try sprinkling the DE on our spots that have died in our yard from dog pee. It works like a charm, it elimintes the dead area. I reapplied throughout the summer (I just take it out in some sort of a cup and sprinkle where needed) and then our irrigation sprinklers water it in. It always ends up regrowing green grass. I was just researching and supposedly google and AI say it isn't effective for that use. They have it wrong. If you have a dog, give it a try! If it works for you, leave a review like I'm doing. I'm curious if it will work for others.

Be Careful

I first discovered this product because I was looking for something to get rid of bookworms in my apartment. It did a wonderful job of doing that, haven't seen one since I started using it. I believe it also gets rid of spiders and other insects. So, the reviews also said that it was good for health, so I started taking it, one tsp with water or juice for ten days on. after the first ten days, I discovered I had worms and it got rid of them(didn't see them but could feel them until the feeling stopped. Then I started to see some bumps popping up, two on my right leg, one on my left, and one on my left foot bottom. These bumps itched nonstop until they hurt. I stopped taking the DE after ten days and the bumps went away. I then started again for the second round of ten days but after a day or two of taking it the bump on my foot bottom started itching and hurting again, I couldn't walk on my foot for a week without pain, and to add to that another bump popped up right beside the second one. My mom gave me something to rub on it and it provided some relief. I stopped taking the DE and the bump went down but left a nasty looking scar on the bottom of my foot, thank God it wasn't my leg. I don't think I'll be ingesting this anymore but I will use the rest to sprinkle around my house and cupboard to keep the insects away.

THIS SACK OF DIRT DID MORE FOR ME THAN MY MEDICAL INSURANCE !

This sack of dirt did more for me than my medical insurance. I am a female afflicted very badly with parasites. I used to live in a big city on the East coast ( I also ate a lot of SUSHI, hint hint ) A few years ago, I vaguely suspected parasites within myself. I had relocated to a farm ( ORE ) and in hindsight I was a "city woman" surrounded by manure, wormy livestock, cats and dogs and...........my habit of relishing the fruits of my labor in my garden, aka swipe of the fruit or veggie against my jeans, and I ate it. Also, I was such a "natural woman" I simply could not wear gloves while gardening in my manure enriched soil. No longer on the farm, but I handle animals and gardening with an approach so as not to cross infect myself. Back then I really did not give parasites much thought. I was in the belief, oh, my dog and cat get worms occasionally. Really? Fast forward, NW KS. I was medically uninsured at the time, so I went to an outpost clinic located in a shut down school. My good fortune was that the APN had traveled extensively outside the US and was very familiar with parasite infection and did not view me as a nut job with delusions. She listened with an open ear. I was given a script for an uninsured "hardship case". In my mind it was like, okay I'll take these pills and problem over. Did not return for follow up. In 2017, I experienced more weight loss issues and my emotions were being affected ? beyond the scope of normal daily living. Was I becoming mental ? I self doctored as I was still uninsured. Pyrantel Palmoate and tape worm medication indicated for dogs helped me. However, I was ignorant about the amount and duration of Biltricide required for tapeworm and ended up under dosing myself. I had heard about diatomaceous earth. I read the reviews and read up on the net how beneficial this dirt is. I appear emaciated, so I took a "chance" and ordered. I say "chance" because in many of the reviews, weight loss was commented on and I cannot afford to lose any more weight. I received this on March 7th. I started with 1/2 tsp 2x day. On March 11th I upped it to 1 Tbs 2x a day and continue to do so. YOU MUST STAY VERY HYDRATED. For my parasite cleanse I alternate between distilled water and regular water. Copious amounts of water to prevent drying of skin and dry bowel movement. On March 19th I went to a hospital clinic because I now have medical insurance. I was hoping for a script for Biltricide or something else that I could use with the DE, to "speed up the demise of my little friends" ( I had not allowed enough time to pass to experience the efficacy of the powder and felt that a chemical addition would help more ) I did not tell them about the DE powder. I feel I was viewed and treated as a cash cow. I thought my appearance would lend support to my complaint of being eaten alive by parasites. I thought because this area is very rural with cattle, they would understand the concept and necessity of worming and the concept that a human also could be infected. My complaint of parasites was viewed as delusions. Literally within minutes, testing procedures were beingoffered. Testing that was never once offered when I was uninsured for medical treatment. Chest/Lung x-ray, MRI Colonoscopy ,Hearing test, Mammogram/Pap, GI test etc.Anti depressant was suggested too. I went home with a $200 stool sample vial, which btw my insurance does not cover and of course it tested negative ( I returned it with 2 clearly visible worms in it ) I bet they threw it in the trash That same day I passed a 8 inch tapeworm. The DE powder from the 7th of March to the present has done wonders. I have expelled so much. Yes,there were days I felt so so sick and weak. The cleansing phase can be so unpleasant, one is easily tempted to give up or blame the product. Please, if you are parasite infected, try to endure. You must sleep more and put tasks aside for awhile. My results- I weighed 118 lb on March 19th. Today April 2nd, weight is 123 lb. Goal 130 lb. Horrible AM nausea with unproductive retching, gone . Feeling faint and weak, gone. Peculiar smell to the breath. gone. Appetite returning with a vengeance.Residual craving that I had for sweets gone. My ability to wolf down cake and donuts vanished. Most important too, the foggy, anxious sensation of my mind, gone. The DE has a most remarkable effect on hair and nails. I look at my toenails in amazement, rhino horn nail on the big toes, going going, gone. I have never experienced such rapid hair growth, it is astonishing. Equally astonishing is the improvement of gum tissue and believe it or not, my teeth are different. One could argue and say "Susan you're finally eating for yourself and gaining, so your mouth looks different" My teeth apparently had thinned? They now appear chunkier, thicker, like corn kernels. They are much whiter too. 1x a week I apply a paste of this DE powder and Super Comfort Powder on my gums overnight. I sleep so much better. I...

Pinworm Parasitic Killer

My daughter and I have been battling pinworms for nearly 3 months. Prescription pills (twice), OTC meds (1x week for 5 weeks), apple cider vinegar, bathing twice daily, nails short, everything dusted/mopped/vacuumed, bed linens every 2 days, vacuum every 2 days, cover couch and chairs with sheets that are washed every 2 days, probiotics, ParaFree tincture (black walnut, clove, wormwood), avoiding sugar, eating raw garlic and supplements, keeping several rooms in the house quarantine, ointment on the bum, bathing towels used once then washed, all pillows in house washed, cleaning out vehicle, wiping down all light switches, handles, knobs, etc. It's been A NIGHTMARE. I've read and tried just about everyting. Finally, last resort, Diatomaceous Earth. Let me say, it's only been a few days, and my gut feels "normal" again, no "wriggling" downstairs, I've had lots of healthy BMs with no gastro problems. I finally feel like this is making improvement, after all the other things we're doing on a near-daily basis. I know it's early to say for sure, and I will review at a later time, but, if you believe that we all spawned from the ocean, anyway, why wouldn't it make sense that this supplement couldn't kill parasites and/or help other areas of the body- it is, after all, part of our composition (silica). I know a lot of people say it's BS or "quack" medicine, but, let me just say, when you're desperate to try anything that may help- and you feel relief, it may as well be gold! I highly recommend- especially if you've been plagued with pinworms, this is definitely worth a shot! It doesn't taste like anything. We mix it with juice (my 4-year old needs taste to cover the grit) or water. It has a slightly gritty (soft, fine grit) feeling like baking soda. I'm going to continue taking it once a day (I don't want to overdo it) and only giving her a 1/3 of a teaspoon to see how things continue. I'm crossing my fingers this is finally the fix to end this nightmare parasitic infection!!!!

Amazing, works great!!

I originally started taking D.E. as a parasite cleanse. I've been taking it since October 2016 & decided to just stay on it since it had other wonderful health benefits. I've also been plagued with UTI infections much of my adult life. They would always happen if I drank too much coffee, so I stopped drinking anything but water & organic green tea. The UTIs improved, but I'd still get them, just not as frequently. Let me just say that since I've been on D.E., I've not had a single UTI & I'm able to drink coffee again! I drink about 3-4 cups of coffee a day typically, with no issues. I've also noticed less aches & pains in my joints & my skin has improved as well. Not sure why some people have experienced G.I. distress, but after some research, my understanding is D.E. is also great at removing toxins from your body. If you have a lot of toxins & you start taking too much D.E. too quickly, you could experience moderate to severe G.I. symptoms. Also, if you have parasites, (you may not know it, but most of us have them), the die off of the parasites can also cause you to feel sick. It's important to only start with 1 tsp a day for a few days to see how your body reacts. If you're good, then increase to 1 tsp twice a day. Gradually increase the amount, adjusting as you go depending on if you develop any undesirable symptoms. It's very important to drink PLENTY of water throughout the day while you're taking D.E. If you don't drink enough water, you will experience dry mouth, dry eyes & constipation. For me personally, 3 scoops twice a day, (equal to 1 Tablespoon twice daily), was a little too much for me. Only 2 scoops, (2 tsp), twice daily was the perfect amount...It did it's job, got rid of my parasites & didn't make me dehydrated or cause any other adverse symptoms. I usually put mine in grapefruit juice & there's much less chalky taste verses just putting it in water. I can't wait to see what my cholesterol numbers are the next time I go to the doctor as I've read it helps lower cholesterol & triglycerides and even blood pressure. So far, I'm thrilled with the results!

Seems to be of good quality

I bought this to help with pests. My new apartment isn't well sealed so after moving in I realized I would need to seal it up better and fight off the pests already hiding in it. I have two cats so using a bunch of poisons is not something I am okay with. Years ago my roommate introduced me to diatomaceous earth for fleas on my cats, the carpet, the couch and my roommate's dog after the dog brought them in from playtime in the grass at the park. I still have a small bag of that batch but I couldn't remember if it was food grade. I assume it was since we used it ON the animals but just to be safe I ordered a new batch.I don't know if it is working for the pests yet because they aren't really around all the time. I've only seen them sporadically in the few weeks I've lived here. I have been sealing up the apartment a lot too (caulking, insulation foam, door sealing) so I may have already blocked their main points of entry and the few I have seen recently were just stragglers who got trapped. I'm not sure I will ever see any of the bugs this kills since it doesn't kill them immediately and they may have time to crawl into hiding spaces to die. I will pull out the fridge and stove in a month or so to see if there are corpses underneath. Fingers crossed that it is a graveyard.Since this is food grade, I don't have to worry about my cats rolling in it or chasing their toys through it. I even put it in their litter box to help kill any bugs that may find litter boxes to be a fun place to hang out. I may even start eating it since many of the reviews for this product are for people who eat it for intestinal health.Overall I am very satisfied with this product so far. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the fact that I don't KNOW that it works yet and because it comes in a bag that is messy and can't be resealed. I transferred it all to an airtight container for easier, cleaner storage. The powder was all over the shipping box as it had come through the seams as it was being shipped and it kind of "exploded" a little bit as I opened it because of all the residual powder that was stuck in the top fold. The general packaging needs some work.

You won't be disappointed with a flea-free home!

To make a long story short, we got a kitten from a farm who didn't want it, had fleas, fleas infested our home, gave kitten away, fleas moved to eating up our legs and feet in the carpet. We were considering getting my husband's pest control company out to spray our home but I am pregnant and I didn't want to pay the small fee either. So I did some research and found that DE is highly recommended for our carpet fleas!I wore a mask (pregnant precaution) and gloves and reached my hand into the bag of DE, spread it around on the carpet like flour, and then used a small broom to sweep it around to really reach deep into the carpet. DE is a super fine powder so it filled the room with dust for a few hours, so I did one room at a time until the dust settled. I left the DE on overnight and that was unpleasant because our feet felt gritty constantly and it does dry out the skin, putting lotion on my feet felt really nice. The next day I vacuumed up the DE room by room because the vacuum unsettled the dust and sent it into clouds in the air once again. The vacuum did a great job at taking the majority of the dust out of the carpet, but it left a little bit WHICH I WAS HAPPY about because of the way DE works. Fleas/cockroaches/spiders (you name it) walk through the DE and it is sharp on their outer shells. It cuts into the bugs/insect's shells, really dehydrates their bodies, and they die. Fleas have egg cycles, so I read that one application would kill the adult fleas but not the new hatchlings and larvae. The fact that not all of the dust was sucked up from the vacuum has saved me another application of the DE (it is a long process considering it extends overnight) and I have not been bit by a SINGLE flea since applying the DE, vacuuming it, and waiting almost 4 weeks to see more fleas (with vacuuming in between). This has worked a miracle, I am seriously so impressed that our home is flea free.SURE the dust settles on everything like the TV, tables, and furniture, but I just wiped everything down after vacuuming and I was happy to have the DE in the furniture to kill off potentials fleas within those too.WORKS! CHEAP! Kills fleas! Highly recommend! Smells like chalk when in the air.

Safer AND CHEAPER flea treatment win!

Had my kitties spayed recently and everything went will...with the exception of one small problem. FLEAS! Okay, a big problem, at least for our household. All of my cats are indoor cats and in my 10 years as a pet owner, I have never spotted a flea in my home. Needless to say, when we realized that the scratching was not due to the horrid collar of shame we initially presumed, we were in panic mode. Having heard horror stories of chemical flea products and not knowing if our cats would have potential reactions, we were on a hunt for a gentle, but effective solution AND WE NEEDED IT FAST. After reading reviews many hopeful reviews about successful diatomaceous earth usage for flea control, I ordered this brand immediately for the superb reviews. As soon as it arrived, we applied a thin coat to each cat by rubbing it directly into their fur. Next, we went throughout the house, applying it to basically everything: furniture, bedding (theirs and ours), carpet, floors, etc. **Note: Be sure to use a face mask and try not to create a powder cloud as it can be irritating to both you and your kitty. This is very fine DE and, like all DE, will become airborne if care is not taken to disperse it. After considering buying one of those fancy "poofers" for spreading, we opted instead to fill an old baby powder container instead and disperse a gently dusting to all treated areas instead. I must say this method was very effective (and much cheaper)! We let it sit for a few days and noticed the kitties weren't nearly as scratching as much. Although we are almost certain the scratching was from lingering scabs, we didn't want to take our chances and gave the cats a nice lathering with the gentle BLUE Dawn. We noticed several dead fleas immediately in the tub. Rinsed and dried them thoroughly and reapplied to their coats. It's been a week now and the problem seems to be under control (thank god)! While I cannot say for sure that this treatment alone was our silver bullet, I do know that the Dawn is only good for killing and removing fleas on the cats, not preventing new ones from hopping on for their feast, so the DE was definitely effective in that area! Regardless, I am just happy my poor babies are not miserable anymore and those nasty buggers are out of my home. I bought the 2 lb bag and still have a bunch left (this will last you for a long time) and I will be keeping it nearby from now on! I have even noticed that it took care of a brief ant problem pretty much overnight (no idea where they came from or went, but again, I don't care as long as they gone)! Thank you DE! Thank you for giving us a choice without risking our cats health, thank you for being so cheap, and thank you for giving me my sanity back!
