Smoothies can be a great way to boost your daily nutrition. They can also be a great way to take DE. Simply add 1 teaspoon of DE to your favorite fruit and veggie smoothie.
For added benefit and flavor, you can add a few drops of essential oil to your smoothie. Some popular choices are lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit oils. You can also try peppermint, ginger, lavender, or cinnamon. Start with a drop or two. Depending on the strength of the oil, you can add more according to your taste.*

Green Diatomaceous Smoothie
This recipe was designed with diatomaceous earth in mind, and DE was already included with the recipe, so it's a great way to try adding DE to smoothies.
Ingredients
- 1-1½ cups of kale (washed)
- ½ a medium cucumber (washed or peeled)
- ½ a Bartlett pear or green apple (washed or peeled)
- 1 tsp of food grade diatomaceous earth
- 1-2 tsp of honey (optional)
Instructions
Add pear/apple and cucumber to a blender. Blend on medium; then add kale and diatomaceous earth and blend. If you add honey, melt it slightly before adding it to your smoothie to make sure it blends well. If the smoothie is too thick, add apple juice and water to loosen it up.

Mango Mint Smoothie

Ingredients
- 3 handfuls of spinach
- 1 cup frozen/fresh mango
- 15 mint leaves
- ½ cup frozen/fresh strawberries
- ½ banana
- 1½ cups of coconut water
- 2 drops Lemon essential oil
- 1 drop Wild Orange essential oil

Blueberry Banana Smoothie with Flax Seeds

Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 6 oz. plain nonfat plain yogurt
- ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
- ½ cup of ice cubes
Instructions
Place your ingredients in the blender and start blending on low speed and then gradually increase the speed until all ingredients are smooth. Add another 30-60 seconds to add air which makes the smoothie lighter. Serves 2 so bring an extra glass.
