Dental health is an essential part of overall wellness, but our busy schedules can make it easy to neglect. Fortunately, you can use diatomaceous earth to improve your dental hygiene without lengthening your brushing routine. DE powder is hard and porous, which makes it the perfect abrasive to help remove plaque and tartar from your teeth. In fact, many name brand kinds of toothpaste already include silica–DE's main ingredient–but you can add diatomaceous earth to your name brand toothpaste to increase its cleaning power.

How to Add DE to Your Toothpaste

Step 1:

Take a small container (one with an airtight lid) and add some toothpaste to it.

Step 2:

Add 1 part food grade DE to 9 parts toothpaste. Mix thoroughly.

Step 3:

Brush your teeth with your DE enhanced toothpaste.

Step 4:

Seal the container and store it for future use.

Note: If you don't have time to mix your toothpaste this way, simply dip the dampened bristles of your brush in DE before adding toothpaste and brushing.

Take Your Toothpaste to the Next Level
